Violet, Ivy, Rosabel & Beatrice
According to my dad, who is a very clever man, Ivy and Violet are one hundred days old today. Amazing. We’ve had a lovely three weeks at home so far. Today at Mass there were four-and-a-half-month-old boy triplets! They were absolutely beautiful and really put is in our place! I doubt very much if their parents can remember what sleep is.
Ciao for now. X
As measured yesterday,
Ivy: 5 pounds,14 ounces
Violet: 4 pounds, 3 ounces
(or something similar). We’re particularly excited that Violet has at long last surpassed 4 pound (doubling her birth weight), not least because we’ve got a bottle of Champagne cooling in the fridge, and it’s great to think that Ivy is almost the weight of an average newborn.
They’re both ‘tall’ for their weight (an inheritence unfamiliar to their parents, needless to say), which has meant, amusingly, that they stretch the lengths of their otherwise baggy babygrows. They have one outfit which perfectly solves this predicament as it has no ‘feet’; a design feature we may well apply to their other clothes…
Three months ago today, Violet and Ivy were, well, extracted in a hospital near our home. Two weeks ago today, we left that very hospital, arriving home just before 2 o’clock, pretty much 77 days exactly after that first tiny squeak we heard from Violet (Ivy was so disgruntled to have been disturbed that she didn’t even whimper).
I must say it seems like we’ve all been at home together forever; it’s wonderful.
We wish you all a happy, holy and watchful Advent.
P.S. Thanks to Niall for reminding me to update the blog, I’ll get some pictures up here later.
